OK, first off the sound quality on this one is fantastic. Most definitely "You Are There" feel. Clear and well defined, no hiss, crowd noise not overpowering. Great job. Second, while yesterday's show has some folks belly aching about a subpar looking set list (although the performace was top-notch), this one certainly looks much better on the surface. To Lay Me Down>LIG? Franks>Samson>BRB>Playin'? Gotta love it. And guess what? The playing more than lives up to the hype. Outstanding. If nothing else, check the LIG. Mind bending.
I know many will choose to go with the TDIH from '71, and who can blame them? Can't go wrong with an amazing performance brought to you in typically stunning Betty Board quality. Well, all I am suggesting is that you try to work this in somewhere in your day.
I love Friday. Too bad my chair doesn't.

Deal.

(Dire: sorry about the TJ in this one, but if you can just look past it, I know you'll be impressed)

UDPATE: Yeah, Jerry's on his game and ripping it up. But at the same time, able to soothe your soul with a heart wrending TLMD. This guy was freakin' amazing.

And the LIG? Immense is too small a word.

Hey!!! I resemble that remark.

There is no T Jed in the fine '71 for TDIH - there are some awesome 'new songs' and a wonderful electric Ripple.

havent looked at the '71 yet. but you make it sound as enticing as a limber heifer with bedroom eyes ;)

guess i'll have to meander over and check atleast the setlist out prior to dismissing it.

This is another show I've always loved. Who can argue with a second set opener of Franklin's? I think this is the only time they opened a set with that song. As stated earlier, a stellar performance throughout, including a second set BIg RR.
